Avasara Leadership Fellows

Avasara Leadership Fellows (ALF) is an intensive after-school program for motivated young women in ninth and tenth standard which provides academic support and leadership training to girls attending SSC English-medium municipal schools or low-income private schools in Mumbai. With access to outstanding faculty and resources, Avasara Leadership Fellows have the unique opportunity to dream big and realize their aspirations. The program runs for 3 hours, Monday through Friday, at the American School of Bombay, BKC.

ALF Alumni Support
ALF provides continued support to its alumni through mentorship, leadership, and other academic opportunities.
Most recently, and with the support of our partner organization in the United States, The Leadership Foundation of India, Mitali, an ALF graduate, traveled to Washington, D.C. in October 2015, and participated in a two-week exchange program during which she spoke at took part in a series of events to benefit Girl Rising India.
Mitali represented the voice of India's girls and helped to raise awareness to the importance of girls' education. In addition to her participation in the Girl Rising India events, Mitali also visited with senior White House officials, the U.S. Surgeon General, and the Ambassador-At-Large for Global Women's Issues, all in an effort to highlight this important issue.
